The 15th annual Embedded Systems Conference (ESC), to be held April 22-26 in San Francisco, will feature a panel discussion by “industry visionaries” exploring the topic of where the embedded systems market is headed. The session will attempt to build a strategic vision of the future of the embedded systems industry, highlighting the key business and technology drivers that are fueling the embedded… market.

Other noteworthy events at the upcoming annual mega embedded market conference include . . .

  • Keynote Address: Turning Good Design into Good Science — keynoter Sir Robin Saxby, founder, president, and executive chairman of ARM, will explore the future convergence of embedded technology and biotechnology.
  • Best of Show Award — a panel of industry experts will judge and select the best-embedded technology for an end-user application displayed by an exhibitor. Early entries include the first human size robot, a micro-robot used in military and special operations, a glove-like peripheral for the gaming industry, and an automobile showcasing the future of vehicle-to-home connectivity.
  • SoC Spotlight — In response to the increasing complexity of SoC designs, ESC San Francisco will offer The SoC Spotlight, which provides hardware and software engineers an integrated offering of system-on-chip design classes, exhibits, and a special networking reception for the design community.
  • Consumer Electronics Spotlight — The emergence of powerful microprocessors, high-bandwidth Internet connections, and a growing variety of content has created exciting opportunities for consumer audio and video products which will be featured at a consumer electronics class track and panel discussion.
  • Embedded Certificate Program — New to ESC San Francisco 2003, attendees will be able to receive a formal certificate of completion by attending in-depth, full-day tutorials taught by industry experts on topics such as TCP/IP Networking, real-time kernels, and embedded Linux.
