Lineo rebuttal to Microsoft attack on Embedded Linux — Part II

Lineo has issued a further rebuttal to a paper posted by Microsoft on its website, in which Microsoft asserts that Windows XP Embedded is superior to Embedded Linux. Earlier this week, Lineo issued an initial response countering many of the specific statements made by Microsoft in its anti Embedded Linux paper, as did LynuxWorks. (more…)

At the end of November Microsoft posted a document on its Web site comparing the Windows XP Embedded and embedded Linux operating systems, with the emphasis on the technical and business inferiority of Linux. Microsoft recently posted a document on its website which compares Windows XP Embedded to Embedded Linux, in an attempt to portray Embedded Linux as inferior from both technical and business perspectives. Embedded Linux vendors have countered that Microsoft's document contains numerous inaccuracies and is based on distorted characterizations of the Embedded Linux operating system as well as of the vendors… (more…)
